SERVPRO of Atchafalaya is a certified IICRC,

We only follow the standards set by the IICRC.

this can help influence a client who is unsure about using their insurance policy after a particular loss.

by following IICRC standards we ensure that all work performed follows these guidelines, as most insurance companies only work with providers who follow these guidelines and are a certified firm. 

The IICRC has 3 categories of water in which most decisions are made in each loss.

category 1-

Clean water source from a clean water supply line, for example an overflown sink or a burst water supply line from a refrigerator.

Category 2-

Water that came from a clean water source but has traveled through building materials and has become contaminated.

Category 3- 

Water that does not come from a clean water source for example a flood or a toilet back up, typically this means all materials that were affected by this water needs to be removed with the exception of core building materials like framing, after removing all contaminated materials, cleaning and disinfecting needs to occur before the drying equipment is placed.

F1rst Responder Bowl

The F1rst Responder Bowl Game is a small way to say thank you to those who do so much for us!

On December 30th, 2019, SERVPRO will be the title sponsor for the SERVPRO F1rst Responder Bowl at 11:30am at SMU's Gerald Ford Stadium.

This is an opportunity to recognize and honor the first responders in our community who put so much on the line each and every day to keep us and our communities safe. 

First responders are eligible to receive a free ticket for themselves and up to three additional family members, that are made available because of the generosity of corporate sponsors. If you're a first responder and would like to register for your free tickets to the game, go here.

Don't Wait with Water Damage

This mold is a direct result of a water damage event that was not addressed quickly.

When you experience a water leak in your home or business, don't wait to get it fixed. If you suspect that the leak had been going on for awhile prior to your discovery of it, don't hesitate to call SERVPRO of Atchafalaya to determine whether or not there is a potential mold issue.

We hope that you don't have to experience mold but, if you do have some on your property, our experienced and certified professionals are equipped to determine how to remove the affected area, if necessary, as well as how to treat the problem so that it doesn't reoccur or cause further damage. 

In this photo here, you can see the evidence of mold growth on a wall that originated from a water loss that was not addressed immediately. Instead of possibly being able to simply dry out the space, majority of the drywall and insulation had to be completely removed and replaced.

Restore vs. Replace

When we are able to, we restore rather than replace. But, whether we restore or replace, we make sure our customers are taken care of!

SERVPRO of Atchafalaya is professionally trained and certified to remediate water damage, mold damage, storm damage, and fire damage. Though the way we approach each type of loss varies slightly, depending on what each job requires, the respect and care we show in each is the same.

One way we show respect is in the way we handle our customers' belongings. Whenever possible, we aim to restore damaged items, rather than replace them.

Sometimes, though, that isn't possible. In this particular water damage, water soaked into the floorboards, causing them to warp and swell. It was not possible to restore the floors and leave our customer's home in pre-damaged condition, which is not how we do business. We tore the floorboards up, dried out the subfloor, and prepared the space for installation of new flooring. It's our priority to help make it "Like it never even happened."
